Fun Educational games for Kids

We all know that games are beneficial to children's development. With games they can experiment, discover, interact and learn. There are so many games on the market that sometimes it is hard to decide which one to choose.

One area where kids are happy and excited is with video or computer games. Sometimes, we are worried that they spend too much time on them, but what if we can help them to learn while having fun. Why not!

Like with everything, too much of one thing is not good. But if gaming is done within reasonable limits, if you can control what and when they play, then it can be beneficial and support their learning.

If you are concerned that your kid is a bit behind at school, somewhat reluctant to do homework but really enjoys the computer, then why not introduce some Fun Educational Games. We all know how kids get excited when you mention the words video games, computer, Nintendo, Playstation and so on. Their eyes sparkle and their face illuminates. For a while, I resisted and did not want to have these devices at home, but as time goes by, peer pressure was getting too important that I decided it was time to have some at home.

I think that it is not too bad if you can remain in control and monitor what they play and how long they play. As long as they have well balanced activities on one side, then video games are OK and they can gain a lot from it.

When mentioning educational games, the majority thinks the ones that focus on math, reading, spelling...in fact titles that are related to the school curriculum. Sure they do represent a big part, but they are so much more out there.

Back to the "traditional" educational games, one of the latest that my kids have tried is Braintastic from EdAvile. It is a hands-on complete educational system. It offers a wide selection in terms of subjects as well as stages. The beauty of it is that it associates fun learning and play time.

How? Well in order to play a game, your kid needs to do a preset amount of learning (set by you). Once the educational part is done, kids get rewarded and can play the game of their choice for a set time. The kids are having great fun and everyone is happy. Kids are happy because they get a chance to play. You are happy because they are learning. Both, you and your kids are having a great quality time together. A fun time that you created by providing fun educational games.

But Fun Educational games can go beyond the academic style. If you decided to have a gaming station at home then encourage your kids to have some games that involve thinking, logic and reasoning. Playing these games with them will support and help them on their learning journey and will reinforce you relation and communication with your kids.

Make the most of their passion, let them have fun, let them learn without knowing they are learning but be selective in their choices of games and aim for the Fun Educational Games.
